Palm Desert Sports Medicine

As any golfer knows, the sport is harder on the spine and joints than those who do not play golf realize. Repetitive motion injuries are particularly common, with back pain being the top complaint among pros and amateurs alike.

Golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow, shoulder pain from tendonitis and bursitis, as well as wrist and hand injuries like carpal tunnel are all very painful conditions that can put a golfer out of commission if not treated properly. Traditional sports medicine may recommend a course of medications and even surgery to treat these injuries, which can keep a golfer off the course even longer.

Fortunately, Dr. Davis, who is an avid, single-digit golfer himself, can successfully treat all of these painful injuries through skillful, non-invasive chiropractic care and specialized golf fitness training to get golfers back in the swing quickly. Dr. Davis teaches golf conditioning seminars to help golfers master the proper mechanics of a golf swing, while his sports therapy treatments help injured golfers recover faster. Our cold laser therapy, trigger point therapy and manual therapy treatments have given pain relief and healing to many injured golfers at an accelerated pace. Many golfers have also reported that their swing and distance have improved because of the treatment and training we provide.

Our golf fitness training is tailored specifically to the needs and condition of the individual golfer. We have a gym right in our office so that we can work together with our golf patients on their sports therapy needs. Dr. Davis’ sports medicine background gives him a unique insight into relieving any kind of pain caused by repetitive motion, but his passion is really helping golfers avoid injury in the first place by helping them improve their technique, strength, endurance and flexibility. For example, this page below displays several of the warm-up exercises that we teach our patients here in our office. Notice that we pay particular attention to strengthening the core, back and upper body, as those areas are most prone to golf injuries.
